I decided to write this post as I was sitting at a coffee shop this morning. I wrote a lengthy enough post, grammar checked it and was satisfied with the results when I noticed I had an appointment, when the appointment was over the work was lost. The post I wrote was on the importance of having a life even with fatigue and having relaxation/down time. I pondered this as I sat in the cafe as that was my relaxation and down time, I didn't do anything crazy, but it was a disconnect from the busy world of work, University, friends and family. These moments are super crucial as this disconnect from everything helps the brain to relax as it is a distraction. These moments can be crazy and wild or they can be mundane in comparison, ranging from partying to sunsets to sitting as a cafe drinking coffee and sketching. Preferably these moments, that need to happen for a short period of time daily, need to be uninterrupted and ideally more meditative. So, consider to take up medition, I do ti chi. As it is a distraction as well.
Lesson of the day - carve out time for meditative and non-meditiative down time/time away from daily busy life.
