Today I once again became a psychologist, or at least it felt as though I did. Helped one of my favourite friends out with her University project and generally life stress. As a loyal friend I'ma lways happy to help, however at times it can be a bit much. The conversation did make me recollect a clip of an established navy army seal (he was a commander or general, high ranking). The seal spoke about goals and accomplishing them. He's did this by asking, "why do we make our beds?", The common response is routine. Its side benefit is accomplishment and positivity. He views these small habits of routine as tasks. Explains that one you get up you have accomplished, at least 2 small tasks, you have 1: got out of bed 2: made your bed. When you look back at all the small tasks you accomplish in the day, one can see that even on a terrible day, they have completed something or many things. He then goes on to link these tasks, "if you can't complete the small tasks, you won't be able to do this large tasks". These small tasks act as building blocks and confidence builders. And that's just what I had desired them to be for my friend when she focuses on a the little accomplishments, confidence builders, to show her that she is capable and amazing.
Lesson of the day - focus on the small tasks that take place daily (making bed) to instill confidence, positivity and worth.
